Kindle Fire – a replacement for eInk Kindles?

September 28th, 2011, Tagged: ,

Great news! Kindle Fire has just been unveiled. You can even preoder it at for $199.

We’ve finally got a tablet on the market which can compete with Apple iPad. At least in popularity. With a 7-inch display, the Fire is about half the size of the iPad. And itโ€™s also less than half the price of the cheapest Apple tablet. For my taste that will be an ideal candidate for a sofa web browsing ๐Ÿ™‚

But what about traditional Kindles? I hope Amazon will continue enhancing them too… after all, Fire is just another tablet, with a screen which stresses the eyes, and therefore can’t be a replacement for our old-fashioned eInk-powered Kindles.

I just got my Kindle the basic one and love it as an e reader. I have an iPad but reading on iPad gets my eyes very tired and it is not relaxing. I hope amazon continues to enhance the traditional kindle. Fire is another tablet and it is a total different product line as far as I am concerned.
